THE TELEGRAPH JUSTIN ROSE QUALIFIER RULES

The competition will be a junior competition in the form of an 18-hole medal qualifying round.
All competitors must be under 18 years of age at midnight on 1 January 2025.
All boy and girl competitors must play off tees with a verified course rating.
The winners of the net competition will be the boy and the girl with the best net scores.
For BOTH the boys and girls competition, the par of the course played must be clearly indicated on the player’s card. The scores for the boys and girls will be the net score against the par of the course played. E.g. a net 70 against a par of 72, so the score would be -2.
Ties in each club competition will be decided on a countback on the last nine, six, three and one holes of the round in that order. If a tie still arises it shall be decided on the last 9, 6, 3 and 1 holes of the first nine holes of the round by the same method. If still tied, a sudden-death card play-off should be held over holes to be decided by the club competition organiser.

A boys’ club competition must have a minimum of five eligible players.
A girls’ club competition must have a minimum of two eligible players.

No caddies are allowed at qualifying competitions and juniors must play on their own, not with adults.
The competition should preferably be open, although if club rules prevent this, closed competitions will be allowed.
A boys’ club competition must have a minimum of five eligible players.
A girls’ club competition must have a minimum of two eligible players.

In the event of a SINGLE GIRL PLAYER only, if the girls’ competition and the boys’ competition are to be staged the same day, this girl may play alongside the boys using the relevant tees. She would be subject to the girls’ competition rules with the addition that the scorecard must be marked by a boy entrant (aged 15 or over OR with a handicap index of 12.0 or less). Upon completing the course, the girl entrant would only be eligible to be the girls’ competition winner, NOT the overall winner. A girls’ competition that takes place on a separate day to the boys’ competition, in which only one girl participates, will NOT constitute a competition. Please note, when returning the girls’ competition proforma, please make sure that the girl’s name, age and handicap details are clearly indicated.
ALL PLAYERS MUST HAVE A HANDICAP INDEX OF 36.0 OR LESS.
All competitors must be permanent residents in the UK or ROI.
